π Ingredients
½ cup (115 g) butter
1 cup (200 g) sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
⅓ cup (40 g) cocoa powder
½ cup (65 g) all-purpose flour
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp baking powder (optional, for slightly thicker brownies)
Optional: chocolate chips or nuts

Preheat oven to 170°C / 340°F. Grease or line an 8×8 inch pan.
Melt the butter and let it cool slightly.
Mix butter and sugar until combined.
Add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
Gently mix until just combined (don’t overmix).
Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
Pour into pan and spread evenly.
Bake 20–25 minutes (center should be slightly gooey).
