dark chocolate cake



*Ingredients:*
_For the Cake:_
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened dark cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot brewed coffee

_For the Ganache Frosting:_
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 12 oz dark chocolate, chopped
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

*Instructions:*
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch round cake pans.
2. Mix dry ingredients (flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, salt).
3. Whisk wet ingredients (buttermilk, oil, eggs, vanilla). Combine with dry ingredients. Stir in hot coffee.
4. Divide batter evenly between pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
5. For ganache, heat cream until just simmering. Pour over chopped chocolate and butter. Let sit 3 minutes, then whisk until smooth.
6. Assemble cake by spreading ganache between layers, then over the top and sides.
